How to Download TikTok Videos on PC, Windows or Mac
TikTokVDL works in any desktop browser on Windows and macOS. Paste a public TikTok link, download the MP4, and the file is saved to your browser's configured download folder — no account or app required.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Copy the TikTok link
Open the public video and tap Share, then Copy link. On a desktop, you can also copy the URL directly from the address bar.
2. Paste it into TikTokVDL
Open TikTokVDL in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari, paste the URL, and select Download.
3. Save the MP4
Click Save Video and the MP4 lands in your browser's Downloads folder.
4. Open the file
Open Downloads in your file manager, or press Ctrl+J (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+J (macOS) in Chrome.
Windows and macOS tips
On Windows, files usually go to C:\Users\[Your User]\Downloads. On macOS they go to ~/Downloads. You can change the default folder in your browser settings at any time.
If a download is blocked, check your browser's download permission, make sure you have enough storage, and temporarily disable content blockers or strict pop-up blockers.
No software to install
A browser-based workflow means you do not need to install a downloader program or grant extra permissions. Only download public videos you have permission to use.
