TikTok to MP4: Save a TikTok Video as an MP4 File
MP4 is widely supported by phones, computers, media players, and editing apps. TikTokVDL lets you process a public TikTok link in your browser and save the available video as an MP4 file without installing a converter.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Copy the public video link
Open the TikTok video, tap Share, and choose Copy link. The video must be publicly accessible.
2. Paste the link into TikTokVDL
Return to the downloader, paste the full URL into the input field, and select Download.
3. Save the MP4 file
After the video is processed, choose Save Video. Your browser stores the MP4 in its configured download folder.
Why use MP4?
MP4 offers broad compatibility and is usually the easiest format to play, transfer, or import into an editor. It works with current versions of iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS without a separate codec package.
TikTokVDL does not increase the source resolution. The saved file can only use the quality made available by the public source video, so a low-resolution upload cannot be converted into true HD or 4K.
Before saving a video
Use downloaded files for a permitted purpose and respect the creator's copyright and privacy. A public link does not automatically grant permission to republish the video.
- Do not upload private or restricted links.
- Credit the original creator when permission requires it.
- Do not present another person's content as your own.
