How to Copy a TikTok Video Link
A downloader needs the URL of a specific public video. A profile, sound, hashtag, search, private post, or shortened text copied from a caption is not the same as a video link.
Step-by-step instructions
1. In the TikTok mobile app
Open the video, tap the Share arrow, and choose Copy link. TikTok copies the video URL to your clipboard.
2. In a mobile browser
Open the public video page and copy its full URL from the address bar or use the page's Share command.
3. On a desktop computer
Open the video page at tiktok.com and copy the address from the browser address bar. Do not copy only the visible caption text.
4. Paste the link
Return to TikTokVDL and paste the clipboard contents into the downloader field.
How to recognize a video link
A normal link opens one specific TikTok post. Short TikTok share URLs are also acceptable when they resolve to a public post. If the link opens a creator profile or asks another person to sign in for private access, it is not a usable public-video URL.
Clipboard safety
Review the pasted address before submitting it. TikTokVDL does not need your username, password, verification code, browser cookie, or access to your TikTok account.
