TikTok Downloader Not Working? Common Fixes
Most download failures come from the link, the video's access status, a temporary source change, or the local browser. Work through these checks before repeatedly submitting the same URL.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Confirm the post is public
Open the link in a private browser window. If the post requires an account, is deleted, or is restricted, the downloader cannot access it.
2. Copy the link again
Use Share and Copy link on the original video. Remove extra text accidentally copied before or after the URL.
3. Retry once in a current browser
Refresh TikTokVDL and try Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox. A temporary processing error may clear on the next request.
4. Check the actual save
If processing succeeds but no file appears, check browser download permissions, available storage, the Downloads folder, and content-blocking extensions.
Problems the downloader cannot fix
TikTokVDL cannot restore deleted posts, open private accounts, bypass an age or region restriction, or create a higher resolution than the source provides. Wait and retry later only when a public post is temporarily unavailable.
Protect your account
Never provide a TikTok password, one-time code, session cookie, or payment to resolve a download failure. TikTokVDL processes public links without a TikTok login.
